On  the 3rd Sept I concluded my performance for the Pavillion without a Pavillion at the Bangkok Biennale 2018, with an impromptu action at Wat Arun. In this intervention, which was conceived under the rubric of 'Suvarṇabhumi',  I brought together two gargantuan icons of Dravidian origin, the Demon King Thotsakan (Dasakantha) and contemporary moviestar SUPERSTAR Rajinikanth - both unquestionably giants of global Indic culture, one from the historiography of Farther India and the other from the media phenomena that is Kollywood! It is interesting how the name 'Suvarṇabhumi', Sanskrit for 'Land of Gold', while denoting contemporary Thai nationalism, also carries connotations of the Indocentric perspective of old.
